Three Athletes Named as Finalists for Young Sports Personality Award

Lionesses forward Michelle Agyemang, darts player Luke Littler and cricket star Davina Perrin have been selected as contenders for the 2025 Young Athlete of the Year award.
These three athletes have been celebrated for their exceptional achievements over the last year.
Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses secure Euro 2025, Littler claimed the world title for the very first time, and Perrin surged to prominence with a unprecedented innings.
Littler claimed this honour in 2024 after his sensational debut year.
The three contenders were announced live on a national radio breakfast show.
This year's winner will be unveiled on the annual sports awards show on the 18th of December.
The event will be aired from seven in the evening GMT.
Michelle Agyemang
Age: 19 Sport: Football
Just three months after her first cap for her country, Agyemang played a pivotal and thrilling role in England's run to winning the Euros.
She entered the fray to score crucial late equalisers in both the last eight and last four matches.
Her incredible contributions led to her being named Young Player of the Tournament.
Later in the year, she was awarded the prestigious Golden Girl honour for the top young European talent.
She was also in contention for the Kopa Trophy for the world's best under-21 female player.
Agyemang, who has been playing for Brighton on loan from Arsenal, ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament in October.
"Being on the shortlist for Young Sports Personality of the Year is an honour," said Agyemang. "I thank God and I'm grateful for the support I've received from my family, coaches, team-mates and fans."
Littler's Profile
Age: 18 Sport: Darts
Littler kicked off the year in spectacular fashion as - while still 17 - he became the earliest-ever winner in history.
He secured a comprehensive triumph over Michael van Gerwen in the final.
His subsequent victory at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth player to complete the prestigious triple crown of major titles.
He didn't stop there - his triumph in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he reached world number one for the maiden occasion.
At 18, he is the youngest man to do so, breaking the previous record.
"To receive a nomination for this award again is a big honour," stated Littler. "Winning last year was a special memory for me and I've had another amazing 12 months. I want to continue elevating darts."
Davina Perrin
Age: 19 Sport: Cricket
Perrin is one of English cricket's most exciting young talents and surged to prominence with an extraordinary and record-breaking innings in August.
Her brilliant 42-ball century in The Hundred is the speediest century from an England batswoman in T20s.
It also stands as the joint third-fastest women's T20 century in a premier tournament.
Perrin finished second in the batting rankings and was named PCA Women's Young Player of the Year.
"I'm truly honoured to be named a finalist for the Young Sports Personality of the Year award," expressed Perrin. "This is phenomenal. I hope it motivates more young females to get into cricket."
