The Streaming Platform is Producing a Popular Game TV Show from the Producers of Alien: Earth and the Comedy Hit.
The latest action-packed instalment that audiences dived into was Far Cry 6, that showcased Giancarlo Esposito as the antagonist, Antón, and came out back in October 6, 2021. As a series, it is known for embracing violence and madness with the same excitement, all while presenting captivating, socially charged tales. No wonder then that the network’s new order for a Far Cry seasonal program pulled in two visionaries whose projects have represented all of those things.
Show Details
Adapted from Ubisoft's successful video game series, the self-contained anthology series will be available on Hulu and is being made by FX Productions. The series will also mirror the video games' structure by featuring a different setting and cast of characters in every instalment.
Key Producers
Rob Mac, creator of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the mind behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will serve as showrunners on the series via their companies, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be accompanied by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.
We’ve shared magnificent partnerships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a collective six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are overjoyed that they are working together for Far Cry,” stated Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a news release. “I have no doubt that they will present this story in a way that is fresh, gripping, and incredibly entertaining. We also want to acknowledge our associates at Ubisoft for entrusting us with this beloved property.”
Cast and Future Plans
Mac will also feature in the show, but currently, we are unsure of what character that may be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was recently renewed for another season, with FX and Disney signing a new overall deal with the producer.
“Being able to collaborate alongside Noah Hawley is a fantasy come true,” stated Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been remarkably supportive, placing faith in us with one of the most iconic video-game universes ever created. And throughout this process, my FX family constantly supports me with their constant confidence and assistance.”
“The aspect I admire about the Far Cry game collection is that it’s an anthology-style program. Every title is a interpretation of a idea, the same way every run of Fargo is a variation on a theme,” noted Hawley. “To develop a large-scale action show that can shift from year to year, while always delving into the nature of humanity through this multifaceted and unpredictable viewpoint, is a long-held aspiration. I’m eager to partner with Rob and bring our shared irreverent, visionary style to the audience.”
A time frame for when we can expect the new Far Cry show has not been announced. The series will stream on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus in other regions.
