Six Individuals Detained After €12 Million Robbery on Gold Processing Laboratory in the French Republic

A group of six individuals using military-grade weapons used explosive devices to breach the security of a gold refining laboratory located in Lyon, causing light wounds to five workers during described as the latest high-profile broad daylight robbery to affect the country.

The daring raid occurred on Thursday late morning, with law enforcement authorities quickly arresting the individuals believed responsible and retrieving the loot estimated to be worth 12 million euros (£10.5M), as stated by authorities.

Five staff members of the precious metals facility were slightly hurt as a result of the detonation, and three of them required hospital checks for assessment, the regional prefecture announced. Twenty-eight workers were present on-site when the robbers attacked.

The individuals, considered career criminals, were detained soon afterwards in the nearby town of the town of Vénissieux, authorities revealed.

A female accomplice who took part in the robbery was taken into custody as well, officers confirmed.

“Six suspects who utilized explosives in an attack on a precious metals company in the Lyon area were apprehended red-handed,” the nation's interior minister stated online, praising officers for their “quick action, authority and management”.

High-caliber firearms, handguns and detonation devices were recovered as well.

The heist took place as French police on the same day detained five further people, among them a key figure, in connection with this month's brazen raid on the Louvre museum.

Numerous detectives have been hunting four thieves who employed a truck featuring an elevating platform and cutting tools to break into an upper-level exhibition space at the renowned museum on October 19th, escaping with precious items estimated to be worth 88 million euros.

In a different significant robbery, robbers the previous month entered illegally the French capital's Natural History Museum, stealing gold samples worth over $1 million. A woman from China, aged 24 was taken into custody recently in the city of Barcelona in relation to the burglary, officials confirmed.
