More than 36,000 people have evacuated from Sudan's Kordofan region eastern part of Darfur beginning Saturday, as stated by the UN's immigration body.

The key central region connecting the country's Darfur provinces and the Khartoum-Riverine area has in recent weeks become the recent fighting area in the extended civil war between the Sudanese armed forces and the militia group.

Massive Displacement Statistics

An calculated 36,825 people evacuated from five areas in North Kordofan region between 26 October and 31 October, as reported by the International Organization for Migration.

The civilians, primarily walking, moved toward Tawila, a town to the west of El Fasher that is currently sheltering in excess of 652,000 evacuated individuals.

Increased Forces Deployment

Citizens of North Kordofan on Monday reported a heavy surge in both RSF and army concentration across urban and rural areas throughout the state.

Both forces are contesting control of El Obeid, the North Kordofan state capital and a critical supply and command hub that links Darfur to Khartoum.

"Today, all our forces have converged on the Bara front here," commented an RSF member in a recently circulated video statement.

Area Citizens Detail Safety Fears

A area citizen of Um Smeima, located west of El Obeid, stated that the amount of RSF vehicles had risen considerably since the group's seizure of El Fasher.

"We discontinued traveling to our farms, afraid of clashes," the local explained.

Another resident, who asked to remain unnamed for security reasons, also indicated that "there has been a big increase in army vehicles and weapons west and south of El Obeid" over the last fourteen days.

World Concerns and Calls

A senior UN official sounded warnings last week about "extensive crimes" and "ethnic-based retaliations" by RSF in Bara.

The official cautioned about patterns similar to those in Darfur, where RSF combatants have been charged with mass killings, sexual violence and abductions against certain racial groups.

The religious leader on Sunday urged an immediate ceasefire and the creation of relief routes in Sudan, declaring that attacks on civilians and impediments to humanitarian aid "are producing unacceptable suffering."

Sudan's ambassador to Egypt on Sunday alleged RSF of perpetrating war crimes in El Fasher and stated that the Sudanese government would not engage with the armed faction.

The representative further called on the global community to classify the group as a terrorist entity.
