"Every New Yorker has the right to exist without intimidation," state officials declared in a release.
"If you witnessed and documented federal operations during the raid, I encourage you to share that material with my office. We are committed to reviewing these reports and evaluating any wrongdoings."
Portal Features

The enforcement action, which observers say involved over fifty ICE personnel, occurred in a well-known district of Manhattan where fake purses, items, goods and additional items are commonly traded widely – typically to visitors.

Leadership Statements

He noted the persons were freed on the following day with no legal action taken.
"The intent is obvious here. It is not about removing offenders," he stated. "This constitutes a military-style operation to provoke unrest. It is purely a pretext to generate turmoil for federal officials to deploy the military to stop conflict that they themselves caused."
Widespread Condemnation
Fury over the ICE raid escalated – every mayoral candidates criticized the incident, as did the state leader.
"Yet again, the Trump administration selects authoritarian theatrics that create fear, rather than security. It needs to cease," one mayoral candidate wrote.
The city's community groups spoke out as well.
"ICE descended on Manhattan's Chinatown with armored transports, masked agents and riot gear to target local sellers trying to make a living. This raid had no connection to citizen protection and everything to do with frightening communities and neighborhoods," said the president of a major immigrant coalition.
Official Guidelines
Official guidelines bans the holding of citizens and the agency has stated it does not arrest or detain citizens. Yet, independent reporting has found that more than 170 American nationals have been taken illegally by immigration authorities during the period of the existing leadership.
