Former Physician Faces Assault Charges Involving Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care
Prosecutors have announced that a ex- physician now faces charges for carrying out assaults involving 38 individuals who were patients.
Details of the Serious Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous acts of sexual assault – some of which involve some against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
A senior CPS official said, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to support a thorough and intricate police inquiry, meticulously examining the available evidence to establish that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
Scope of the Police Inquiry
These allegations follow what police called a “complex investigation” into reported assaults at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.

Prosecutors outline the forty-five sexual offences include:
- Fifteen counts of assault.
- 17 counts of penetrative assault.
- Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.
