Football Analyst Sutton Battles Artist Olly Murs in Premier League Predictions

Arsenal's 10-game victorious streak was ended by the Black Cats before the global hiatus, however can the English top division frontrunners bounce back against north London rivals Spurs this weekend?

"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," remarked football expert Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still manage to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, against artificial intelligence, fans and a variety of guests.

In week 12, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.

The singer's new record, Knees Up, is available on the weekend.

Soccer and Family Life

Olly is a skilled footballer as well as a accomplished artist and has been a star of multiple charity football games down the years - but he is not intending a serious return as a footballer.

"{I recently played in a benefit game the other night for a friend of mine," he said. "My side was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I still love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it seriously again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my child or boy chooses to play instead."

The singer and his wife his partner have a young family, their daughter and Albert, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their coach.

"I will not force football on our children but I've already told Amelia that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be managing their Saturday soccer side," he added.

"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly was involved with a soccer team for a while too.

"My father coached with us when I was a child, which is probably where I inherited it. He coached our team for two or three seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Top Division Predictions

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's return from injury but their offense is already stronger with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.

In my opinion this game will be quite tight, though. The Clarets are well organised and their sole home defeats so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

This smells of a 1-1 tie to me, but I am in fact going to go with the London side to edge it for what would be their third league win in a row.

Sutton's prediction: 1-2

Olly's pick: The Blues will be superior. 1-3

AI's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have lost their previous couple matches - albeit both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which surprised me.

In contrast, West Ham won back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they do look strong again.

West Ham's sole away win this season came at Forest in August, when West Ham manager Nuno was previously that team's manager.

Therefore, what exactly do I go with here - can West Ham continuing their run under their manager, or Bournemouth responding?

I am going to go with Bournemouth, because I believe what happened against Aston Villa was a anomaly.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

Olly's outlook: The home team are performing strongly but West Ham have picked up under Nuno. 2-2

AI's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were considered one of the frontrunners for relegation before the season began, but they have impressed a few people under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three wins in their past four matches.

A family member advised me to select Brentford striker Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

The forward will probably find the net again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or support Brentford at Amex Stadium.

They have not had great success on the road this term, and Brighton are consistently strong at their stadium. Brentford will try to hit them on the break but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's side carry much more of a danger.

Sutton's forecast: 2-1

The singer's view: This could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a lot of scores but it actually turns out to be rather tight. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge game for Fulham, who have lost five of their last six matches.

Fulham have have plenty of quality in their squad but it still feels like they could be sucked into a relegation battle.

As for Sunderland, indeed they are the surprise package of the Premier League season so far.

The away side's performance in the 2-2 tie with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We have not witnessed any other team disrupt the North London side like that this season, and they were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice to do to back the visitors here, because they are obviously capable of disrupting Fulham up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they beat the Blues at the close of October.

But I am not choose that. Rather, I truly need to carry on opposing the away team with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of credit for their positive results because they evidently enjoy to prove me wrong.

Considering the home side's home form, the sole side they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Marco Silva's side will be extremely desperate for a good outcome, so I am going to say they will secure three points.

Sutton's forecast: 1-0

Olly's choice: I'm aware the visitors are doing well and also that Fulham are on a poor streak... but they have nonetheless been decent at home this season. 2-0

AI's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough one to call. The Reds have lost seven of their past 10 matches in all competitions, but might they be among the teams who profit from the {international break|
