Rob Edwards and Gary O'Neil represent the early candidates in the frame to replace Vitor Pereira as manager of Wolves.
The previous coach was dismissed on the weekend following the squad's ten-game without a victory start to the top-flight season.
And both candidates - both of who have historic links to the team - are among the options to be evaluated by the Wolves leadership.
Edwards is currently at Middlesbrough, which would pose a possible obstacle to his appointment at Molineux.
Nevertheless the former Luton Town head coach - who played more than 100 of games for Wolves during his playing career - is considered a strong contender for the position.
The mid-career manager is reportedly enjoys support from the Wolves board as they start the search of hiring a new manager.
O'Neil is also appearing as a surprise candidate, even though he would be a shock appointment given he was released by the club in the previous winter.
The former West Ham player is out of work which means the club would not need to provide any compensation.
