Comedian and author David Walliams dropped by longtime publisher.

David Walliams

Best-selling young adult author and TV personality David Walliams has parted ways with his UK book publisher, according to an announcement.

A representative for the publisher said: "Following a thorough review, and following the appointment of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing additional books by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the move was made after an investigation into claims about questionable actions towards female individuals.

The firm has not elaborated on the specific rationale behind the move, adding: "We refrain from speaking about internal matters."

A Prolific Literary Career

Walliams is one of the UK's most successful children's authors, boasting over over six tens of millions of copies worldwide in five dozen languages.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins back in 2008.

Several of his books, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into TV movies.

His bibliography includes in excess of 40 works in total, encompassing a Christmas book called *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins in October.

Television and Literature

His initial claim to fame came on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE several years ago in recognition of his work for the charitable sector and arts community.

The publisher's decision comes after the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive last fall.
